Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
RPL is the process of assessing you have learnt through previous study, this may include:
- Formal study in Australia
- Formal study in another country
- On the job training
- Unaccredited courses and workshops
Whilst RPL doesn’t save on the cost of the course, it does save on time and allows you to finish the qualification as soon as possible.
Recognition of current competence (RCC)
RCC Is the process of looking at how you are currently competent in a skill that is being delivered as part of the qualification, this may be through: – Experience in the industry – Completing the skills in a voluntary capacity – Life experience
Both RPL and RCC are an evidence gathering process where you collect and present evidence on the skills and competencies you hold in order to gain credit for specific units of competency within the course.
