Student: Ebony Slater

Study path: Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at Linx Institute.

Inspiration: Family. Ebony had always loved looking after her younger sister. At 16, she realised that this passion could lead to a fulfilling career and she began to research study options within the Early Childhood Industry.

Why Linx Institute?

Ebony checked out her local TAFE campus for Early Childhood Education courses but found them limiting. She wanted a high quality syllabus delivered in a flexible format. Research of Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) led her to an Open Day at Linx Institute. She was impressed by the welcoming friendliness of the staff, as well as their clear enthusiasm for their role as educators. Secondly, Linx offered a variety of study modes and course structures that could be tailored around her situation, with both online and in-classroom options, plus 1:1 support.

Finally, Ebony was able to enroll in a VET-FEE-HELP funded course and defer her fees until she started earning. This meant she could pursue her passions without the cloud of financial stress. Ebony enrolled in the 2016 class and has been thoroughly enjoying her studies, looking forward to the day when she graduates as a skilled educator in the Early Childhood Industry. She knows that Linx Institute will also support her in the transition to paid work.
